The Three Men At Sea!

Cover Story

The Three Men At Sea!

One day, there were three men, who for a reason or another, decided to travel the great blue seas on a sudden adventure into the horizon. Unfortunately, they weren’t aware of the storm that was already in its route of destruction. In no time, the men set ways into the sunset with the necessary supplies tools and food for their journey. They had plans of sailing the many seas and exploring the impossible, but little did they know that their plans will soon be interrupted by Mother Nature. What seemed like an ordinary day came to a halt as the sound of a monstrous thunder erupted over the darkening skies. Suddenly great winds overtook the poorly built boat of the three unfortunate men. They men desperately hung for their lives and prayed to the Gods as the merciless winds veered them in waters unknown. After several hours of fighting 160 mph winds and water, the three men found themselves unconscious, and washed upon a deserted island. After waking up, one of the men finally built enough strength to stand to his feet and he then began to call the names of his two friends. “Hampton, Gregory, answer me”, repeatedly he yelled until he heard someone say, “James” in a weak distressed voice. Then another voice came strolling through the midst of the of the horrific storm. James answered “Gregory is that you”.

“OH! Hampton thank God you both are alive I thought we were going to die in that storm. I’m so happy to see you both.” The men hugged each other in relief; they then came to their senses realizing that their current location is unknown, with only a view of the ocean. Hampton glanced fearfully at the seemingly everlasting blue sea and suddenly in a stiff tone said…”Guys we have no way to get back home to our families… I knew this was a bad idea, James. What’s the plan now?” And in a confident tone James replied “we shall pray to the most high and he will make sure we see the faces of our children and wives again. James then demanded the other two to bow their heads and fully concentrate as he prayed “Dear Lord we three humble servants of you come in much need of your favor and blessing. I know you know the hard battle we’ve made it through and we know it was through your mercy and grace that we have survived such a battle with Mother Nature. Right now Lord we need you like no other. Our families are home and they need us. My Lord please doesn’t let us die at sea.” No later the silent “a” rolled of his tongue they were startled by a Strong lion felt voice. They were fearful but the feeling was righteous.

The voice had spoken unto the three foolish but humbled men. “I’m your father and I hear your cry. Your actions aren’t the most wise but your call to me proves your respect for the almighty and for that I shall send my angels to come and see to your rescue my foolish children” with a sensitive and Godly chuckle. The voice said proudly “My angels shall come pure at heart and flesh with LACKED knowledge of their mission but this will be your favor you so yearningly desire for. Now my sons I’ve done my part now it’s on you to finalize your survival.” The men sat and sat for hours. Then hours turned into 2 days of eating off the land and taking in fluids they never imagined. You see the Angels were sent but before the Almighty made sure of the arrival he wanted to test the faith of three men. At first they started to doubt the rescue that the voice spoke of but then here came two fairly dark skinned Individuals in a boat that didn’t look like it could have been sent from the heavens. The two men in the boat approached the island with smiles and looks of generosity. One of the two men on the boat yelled out to the three helpless men ashore. “Hey there my friends, Do you need help? We have food and water that we can share with you. we brought extra just in case of emergency you are more than welcomed to come along with us, we will see that you make it to you desired destination..” James looked at Hampton then he took a glimpse at Gregory and said we can take this offer and have a chance to see our families again.

What do you guys want to do? Greg quickly said let’s take the offer but Hampton replied with a stern voice “No. the voice of the Almighty said he will send his Angels. These guys are fairly good-hearted men but they’re not Angels.” So Hampton yelled to the men “We kindly thank you for the offer but our Prayers were answered by the Almighty and he say he see to it that his Angels will come to our rescue. We will be Ok” The two men looked at each other in confinement then shrug their shoulders and soon headed back out to sea; out of sight and distance of contact. For days the men sat then finally with anger called out to the Almighty and asked him “why do you tell us such lies of Angels?” The voice then immediately answered the angered call of the men and it replied. “I did my part, my Angels came to you with pure heart and flesh and you told them you didn’t need their help. What were you expecting my foolish children”

I'm Marvel Saffold, I'm a Witblogger out of Riviera Beach, FL. I'm also a Rapper, many years ago I wasn't aware of the power of literature. Specially my literature, until I started exploiting writing in different format--from music to poetry. Having made that transition--I even surprised myself many of times. The real kicker is I tasted the power prior--in the 9th Grade. I will forever love Ms. Saunders, my English Teacher at William T. Dwyer; because it was then, in her Class that I started mastering writing literature. Years later I'm finally realizing how much of an influence Her Class had in my writing process even in music. I found myself using all that I've learned from Ms. Saunders. I love writing no matter what it is.
