Dear Black Folks…

“Dear Black Folks…”

Time is now lets rise..
The enemy is breeching with no surprise..
Please open your eyes..
Tired of the lives lost that the lies Cost..
They wake up and study how to defeat us..
All we want to do is size our feet up..
Own a car that speeds up..
So you can race and crash into the shell of darkness..
We live so heartless..
Deprived of the truth..
I feel for our youth..
All they know is shoot..
Sex..
Facebook..
Text..
Exercise is best..
But for some apparent reason we find a lot of time to rest..
We spend money we don’t have just to keep up with our debt..
Self check….
We were taught another mans religion and culture…
And We accepted it…
Respected their rejection..
So prone to neglection..
Like a cell phone with bad reception..
We are disconnected..
I pray we wake up to what’s unfolding infront of us slowly..
This unexpected path full of teary faces and no laughs..
Unclean spirits and no baths..
Brings us in reach of satan’s wrath….
He’s dominated..
It’s not complicated..
To undermine and break him down..
But first we must trust in each other with love..
Get it back to how it was…
Before the Candy paint and drugs..
We were Kings and Queens..
Raising our own seeds as we please..
No influence from Radio and TV..
More like new books to read to excel and succeed..
Let go of our greed and give…
Being Black is our reason to live…

Remember that…
1 Love under God..

Sincerely yours, Marvel

I'm Marvel Saffold, I'm a Witblogger out of Riviera Beach, FL. I'm also a Rapper, many years ago I wasn't aware of the power of literature. Specially my literature, until I started exploiting writing in different format--from music to poetry. Having made that transition--I even surprised myself many of times. The real kicker is I tasted the power prior--in the 9th Grade. I will forever love Ms. Saunders, my English Teacher at William T. Dwyer; because it was then, in her Class that I started mastering writing literature. Years later I'm finally realizing how much of an influence Her Class had in my writing process even in music. I found myself using all that I've learned from Ms. Saunders. I love writing no matter what it is.
